Closing out the season
Two Future MVP’s have been dominating this year. Only two months left for teams to chase the glory of becoming World Series Champions. We have some teams just looking to next season and trying to build around some young talent. Let’s take a look at two rookies that are just on fire right now. One in the National League and the other in the American League. Cincinnati Reds Outfielder, Aristides Aquino and Shortstop Bo Bichette of the Toronto Blue Jays.
Aristides Aquino nicknamed “The Punisher” has definitely been punishing major league pitching so far. The Punisher has now set the MLB record for most HR’s in a players first 12 games with 8 HR. He is batting a remarkable .429 batting average with 16 RBIs and 1.143 slugging percentage. What made this call up possible was the Reds moved often controversial OF Yasiel Puig at the trade deadline. This really isn’t a fluke for Aquino as he had a .299 batting average with 28 HR and 53 RBIs in 78 games for Triple A club Louisville this season before his call up. If Aquino can keep playing well the Reds will have another piece to build around veterans Joey Voto and Eugenio Suarez.
Bo knows baseball part two
Bo Bichette has not disappointed the Toronto Blue Jays since his call up a couple of weeks ago. He has set MLB records for hitting a double in 9 consecutive games (modern era) and for having 15 extra base hits in 15 games. Bo Bichette numbers are nothing but impressive so far .394 batting average in 15 games with 11 doubles. Bichette was the last of 3 former Major League baseball players sons to be called up. Toronto Blue Jays have called up the following Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Cavan Biggio. If it wasn’t for an early season wrist injury you would have seen Bichette up earlier this year. So the Blue Jays future looks bright at least offensively with these three rookies.
The Future of Baseball
Aristides 25 years old and Bichette 21 years old both look to have bright futures in major league baseball. If they can come close to putting up the numbers they have been so far. I would even go out on a limb and say that they both might be MVPS of their respective leagues in the future with numbers like this.
