NBA Preview for the upcoming season will be interesting.
You have multiple teams who are in championship contention. Some teams need to win NOW and others are slowly going to take their time to build the perfect team. NBA Preview for the 2019-2020 Season has now commenced.
Let’s start with the Golden State Warriors.
They suffered some major setbacks. They lost Kevin Durant in the Finals to a torn Achilles and then he left in free agency to go to the Brooklyn Nets teaming up with Kyrie Irving and DeAndre Jordan. The Warriors moved to San Francisco and are starting in a new arena. They lost Boogie in free agency to the Lakers although he recently tore his ACL so no man lost. Klay Thompson tore his ACL in the Finals and will be out 1 year to recover. On a positive note they signed D’Angelo Russell and Willie Cauley-Stein, extended Draymond Green and resigned Kevon Looney. I believe the Warriors make the playoffs, but not the finals. They’re going to have a tough year competing and I don’t see them winning the Division.
Next up is the Denver Nuggets.
The nuggets are are stacked defensively. Offensively they’re slacking a bit but they have Murray, Harris, Jokic, Millsap and Plumlee. With that, you can’t go wrong. I don’t believe they’ll go far in the playoffs though. Unless they make a major trade, they’re at the same place they were last year. They’re in a stacked Western Conference, so going deep is going to be a problem.
So the Lakers have had probably the biggest offseason in the NBA. They traded away 3 first round picks and Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Josh Hart for Power Forward, Anthony Davis. They were able to keep Kyle Kuzma, and have LeBron running the show once again like he does everywhere else. Luke Walton was also fired and hired Frank Vogel with Jason Kidd as assistant. Center, DeMarcus Cousins was signed but he went down with an ACL injury so in his place they brought back Dwight Howard. I don’t think they’ll be going far in the playoffs but they will make it. They’re struggles will be team chemistry and expect another circus like last year.
The Boston Celtics
And then there’s my team, the Celtics. Unfortunately we didn’t go as far as I wanted too, no thanks to Kyrie Irving and him being a big crybaby. The Celtics were able to sign Kemba Walker to replace him. They brought in Enes Kanter, as a big man which I’m a fan of this signing as well. With Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart, and Romeo Langford, I’m guessing we should at least make the ECF.
Two words for ya. Giannis Antetokounmpo. The current MVP is one of the most dominating men in the league. He led the Bucks to the best record in the NBA last season. They fell short of making the Finals but they’ll make it there in time. Also on the roster is Kyle Korver whose an excellent shooter, Eric Bledsoe, both Brook and Robin Lopez and Khris Middleton. The roster is set up to succeed so let’s see what they can make happen this year. I’m a fan of Giannis so curious to see him reach his full potential.
Last but not least – The Los Angeles Clippers
They acquired Paul George via trade from OKC, and signed big time Free Agent- Kawhi Leonard. Leonard just won the Finals with the Toronto Raptors, was named Finals MVP, and hit a game winner in the playoffs. He put Toronto on his BACK. He set out 1 goal while in Toronto and made that happen. The Clippers also might get Andre Iguodala at some point and even talks of them signing Carmelo Anthony, which I really hope happens because Melo can still ball out. Clippers are looking great offensively and defensively. They’re roster has Patrick Beverly, Maurice Harkless, Montrezl Harrell, and Lou Williams (3x NBA 6th man of the year). To me, that’s a championship roster. I’m doing an early prediction right now and saying it’ll be Clippers V Bucks in the Finals. Do you agree? If not let me know who you got!
