Antonio Brown’s Over the weekend drama:
This past weekend former Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown asked to get released by the team. The same day he was let go the New England Patriots signed him late Saturday afternoon. Agent Drew Rosenhaus was reaching out to all the NFL teams and mostly everyone wanted to stay away from the drama, but one team took a flyer and signed him. New England was rumored in the off season to offer his former team the Pittsburgh Steelers a first round pick, but was not willing to ship him to an arch rival. With the Patriots potent offense and having a solid number one option and a guy that has been dominant for some years, now Pats fans can only hope for solid numbers and contributing to the team.
What Brown means to the Patriots?:
Looking at the weapons that Tom Brady has at age 42, has to be the best he’s had in a long time. Josh Gordon, Julian Edelman, Antonio Brown, Phillip Dorsett sitting pretty at the wide out position. Never mind in the back field, Sony Michel, James White, and Rex Burkhead for more options to the offense. Plan for Brown to take over as the top receiver in the upcoming weeks as the season progresses.
Can Antonio avoid off the field issues?
Social media is big now a days especially to young people and athletes. Brown is very active when it comes to that and isn’t afraid of sharing what is on his mind. The “Patriot way” likes be low key and not having their players post all over social media, so he might have to work on that. Bill Belichick and Brown shouldn’t have any problems getting along and are on the same page with one another. Randy Moss was the last high profile wide-out to the Patriots. Just have to wait and see how this marriage of Brown and New England works out.
