The Jacksonville Jaguars (3-8) were supposed to be one of the top teams in the NFL heading into this season. The Jaguars fell short of a super bowl berth in the AFC Championship against the New England Patriots. Jacksonville got their revenge earlier this year beating the Patriots at home. Through four games, Jacksonville was (3-1) and things were promising. Since, they have fell off the map and have dropped five games in a row. During their annual London trip a few players got arrested prior to that game. Blake Bortles recently got benched in favor of back up Cody Kessler (the former Cleveland Brown). Talk about the wheels falling off?
Jalen was drafted a couple of seasons ago out of Florida State University with the 5th pick in the NFL draft. He has been one of the most dominant corners in the league the past couple of seasons. This season has been a struggle, however. It started with him making a personalized list of NFL quarterbacks, in which he ranked them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but he’s been on one good team the since joining league. There’s no need to comment on other QB’s when his own QB, Blake Bortles, has been mediocre at best, just saying.
Firstly, earlier this season, just a few weeks ago Jalen was linked to trade rumors. Secondly, I would agree that it’s a good time to move him. Unfortunately for Jacksonville the trade deadline has passed. I’m sure a playoff contender would have loved to secure him to contribute to a Super Bowl run.
Looking Now – Future
Its safe to say that the Jaguars will not be making the playoffs this season. Would head coach Doug Marrone be on the hot seat? Will he stay with the team beyond the 2018 season? Who will be the starting QB in the future? Blake Bortles? or someone else? A lot of questions surround this organization from now until next year. Might be time to go in a different direction and draft another quarterback or look to sign a free agent.
