On Friday, the National Football League reinstated Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon on a conditional basis. Sunday he can rejoin his teammates although he can not play in the preseason, but is eligible to play Week 1. This is great news to New England and Pats nation seeing they needed a boost at the wide out position. Hopefully, he overcame his struggles with drugs in the past and is ready for a fresh start to the 2019 season. Flash is back and will be a big contributor once he hits the field and performs at his best.
Roger Goodell statement on Gordon:
I understand that Roger gave him plenty of chances to sober himself up and a lot of people have different views when it comes to Josh. Goodell has had a history with the Patriots in the spy gate, and the deflate gate cases among other issues. To be honest I’m shocked that he gave Gordon another chance at his NFL dream. The 28 year old is too talented to mess up his dreams of playing football for drugs and etc. Maybe he’s proved to the commissioner that he’s a different person and ready to be a role model to others.
What does this mean to the Patriots?
Definitely a huge addition to the young Pats wide receiving corps with Josh coming back. Julian Edelman will be the main target opposed by Gordon on the other side to take some of the pressure off one another. It just gives more options for Tom Brady and the crew in the offense that can be lethal. With so many options on the offense between Sony Michel, James White, and first round pick N’ Keal Harry. It makes you think how can other teams defend one of the top offenses in the league. Get ready Patriots fans to see another exciting season come up.
